Governance THE EXERCISE OF AUTHORITY, DIRECTION AND CONTROL OF AN ORGANIZATION IN ORDER TO ENSURE THAT ITS PURPOSE IS ACHIEVED. THAT IS TO SAY THAT COUNCIL REPS HAVE TO EXERCISE THEIR POWER AS AN ELECTED OFFICIAL IN ORDER TO SEE THAT THE OBJECTIVES OF AUPE ARE ACHIEVED. PROVIDING STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP BY SETTING DIRECTION, MAKING POLICY, AND OVERSEEING ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE.

THE 5 PRINCIPALS OF GOVERNANCE Accountability Transparency Predictability Forward Focused Planning Engaged Participation

Accountability Who are we as Union Reps accountable to? Would we all have the same answer? By utilizing the time we have in meetings to focus on forward momentum we will gain a collective vision and a unified perspective.

Transparency Transparency is the distribution of information in a timely manner.

Predictability Can we be counted on as leaders to fulfil the obligation to those who elected us in a predictable way?
