READING TEXTBOOKS AND ARTICLES Reading comprehension, our ability to understand and remember the material we read, is a skill that weakens if not used. For that reason, we need to learn the process involved in reading comprehension and make sure to apply it. During your college career and beyond, you will be faced with situations requiring you to read books, articles, journals, documents, and website information for content and comprehension. Furthermore, you may be asked to analyze and interpret the information in these reading materials and reflect upon them in written form.

NOTE TAKING METHODS Note taking systems are formats that assist us with the arrangement of information. The idea is to take notes on the important terms, concepts, theories, and ideas only. Using an effective note taking strategy that emphasizes your personal learning style can save you time, energy, and help reduce stress. The key to academic and professional success is organizing the information you have available. Different formats work for different people. You can experiment to find the note taking method that works best for you.
