Glossaries are similar to dictionaries. They are at the back of a book and give definitions to words that you can find in that book. Glossaries

Encyclopedias are big, thick, books with LOTS of information about LOTS of different things. Encyclopedias

How to Use an Encyclopedia Information in encyclopedias are in alphabetical order and are grouped together by letters.

How to Use an Encyclopedia Use the guidewords at the top of the page to locate the subject you are looking for. Words are in alphabetical order like in a dictionary.

When would you use an encyclopedia? To find out information about a specific person, place, or thing For school projects
