Fall 2010 Group Melee To start, place mouse on video and left-click.

Fall 2010 Group Melee - Overview of Situation Boys U15 – U16 match. First half … 6 fouls (3 on red, 3 on white) and 2 Cautions (both on white), then: At 22 minutes into the match, Red #4 receives the ball and shoots from the top of the penalty arc. #7 White and #4 Red begin to fight. You see a hard kick at #4 Red by #7 White. You blow your whistle and move toward the two players, who are grabbing one another. #5 Red runs to try and pull them apart as do you.

Fall 2010 Group Melee - Overview of Situation Two White players and the White goalkeeper (GK) also join in trying to separate players. #12 and #3 White are grabbing #5 Red and a White teammate #7. After #5 Red is released, he immediately comes over and pushes the White GK in the chest. Things continue … the White GK is then hit again by #10 Red, as you are showing a red card to #4 Red. As you turn and start to walk away from your AR’s side of the field, #4 Red follows you (along with 4 or 5 teammates) to question the you. You yell at #4 Red, “You’re off! Get off, Get outta’ here!”

Fall 2010 Group Melee - Overview of Situation The Red teammates ask about the White player and you say “He’s getting one” and show # 7 White a red card and yell “Get outta here- both of you. Both of you, outta’ here.” As you begin to write, your AR comes over and says, “10 White needs a red card.” You call #10 Red over and show him a red card. # 5 Red then asks you “What about the goalie?” You then say, “Guys, that’s it-get outta here.” #5 Red says “That’s Bullshit - Ask your linesman.”

Fall 2010 Group Melee - Overview of Situation The AR gets your attention and comes onto the field of play. You ask the AR, “Did you see the keeper do anything?” The AR says, “The keeper was on top of him.” You say to the AR, “You got a whistle? I lost mine.” The AR hands you a whistle. You then ask the AR “So should I throw out the keeper too?” AR says, “Yes I would throw him out. He was on top of him.” You walk away from the AR toward the GK and motion to the GK to come meet you. You show the GK a red card.
