November-March Homework Research Task S3Family History Investigation

So who do you think you are? Discussion Find someone who: Has someone famous in their family? Has a family member/members who have emigrated abroad in the last 100 years-where did they emigrate to? Has family members who fought in either WW1/WW2 or both? Has ever seen their Family Tree Has ever listened to family stories/history told by older relatives?

What is the purpose of the task? To help you to build your research/investigation transferrable skills To allow you to understand your family: Past, Present and the Future To allow you to plan, organise and create your own family record - for your family to keep for years to come! Your piece of history!

Themes that you could investigate? Emigration Family Tree WW1 and WW2 Marriages Famous Family members Family Businesses/ Industries Themes

How do I structure it? Title Page – Image related to your project and the title ‘Family History Investigation’ and your name/class Introduction Sub-Topics: Choose 4 themes to investigate that are relevant to your family – it can be the ideas discussed in class or your own ideas. Aim for an A4 piece of paper on each with a heading Conclusion – what have you found out overall List of Resources – Books, primary source documents, photographs, interviews times/dates/with who, websites

How long do I have? November 2013-the beginning of March 2014! Lots of time to gather your evidence and create you own family history record!
