Economic Challenges Affecting Transfer at the CSU State support for the CSU has been cut by almost $1 billion or 35% over the past 18 months. – Student tuition increases cover over only ½ of cuts. – State resources are now equal to the fiscal year; CSU enrolls 90,000 more students. The CSU will continue to focus on authentic access for students – Enrollment management approaches and strategies vary by campus – Resources and enrollment capacity highly dependent on outcomes of November election.

Economic Challenges Affecting Transfer at the UC UC sustained $750M in cuts for Maintained our goals in the face of these cuts – Access – no reduction in new California enrollment – Affordability – currently no tuition increase – Quality – The University’s top priority Strategies for dealing with budget cuts – Cost reductions/efficiencies – Tuition and fee increases – Non-resident enrollment
