Classroom Procedures PROBLEM SOLVE, SHOW RESPECT, AND MAKE GOOD DECISIONS. We go over these golden rules regularly Binders, desks, and backpacks—Neat and organized Cover all textbooks, no sticky covers (use book socks/paper bags) Absent work—New policy – Can’t call for work until third day - Please call ahead if want to pick up work Notice for tests—end of chapter/unit it should not be a surprise. I usually will give 4 or 5 day warning All work in cursive. The students are expected to progress

Fourth Grade Goals: Curriculum Treasures novels, & projects Everyday Math: Multiplication, division, measurement, geometry, problem solving-putting into practice what they learned Harcourt Science: Earth, plants, animals Social Studies: California – regions, resources, environment, history Writing-six traits of writing and a lot of practice Project Head, Heart, Hands (H 3 ) Too Good For Drugs

Fourth Grade Goals: Writing State Writing Assessment Three possible topics: Personal Narrative Response to Literature Summary Beginning of March 6+1 Traits of Writing

Grading Policy Credit/No Credit In class grading-learn from their mistakes Letter Grades Wednesday Folders Contain evaluated work Please sign and return to school on Thursday

Homework Policy Roughly minutes of homework (unfinished class work, projects, studying for tests) Sometimes students don’t make good use of class time so they have extra homework Be guide on the side/Don’t do the work for them. I’ll never find out if they understand what I’ve been teaching. Assignment Calendars – see packet, my website The Stamp of Doom in their assignment calendar will let you know if they have done their work. Sometimes, there are good reasons why homework is not done.

Birthday Treats We are lucky this year! We don’t have any severe allergies; however, there are alternatives to bringing food items. A storybook to add to our class library Pencils, art supplies, etc. Individually wrapped items,

Get Ready, Set, Go! Please send your child to school ready to start the day! Pack school books and assignments the night before Send lunch to school with child in the morning Do not bring forgotten items to the classroom, it is very disruptive Please write a note to your child
