Grading There are 3 categories for grades for Math, Science, and Social Studies: Chapter/Unit Tests – 50%Chapter/Unit Tests – 50% Performances/Projects – 20% Performances/Projects – 20% Quiz Grades – 30%Quiz Grades – 30%

Intervention/Extension  This is a county wide structured period of the day in which children receive additional instruction in Reading and Math.  Students identified as eligible will go to the Horizons class at this time.  Students identified as EIP will either be served by the EIP teacher or by a designated teacher within the grade level in a reduced sized classroom.  Tiered students identified by the RTI process will receive additional structured interventions.  All other students will be served through flexible groups.

PLANNERS Each student has been provided a planner. Students will record their assignments-if there are no assignments that day in a subject area=none Please check this every evening.

Homework is assessed by the teacher for completion each day and is checked by the student for accuracy. It is viewed as practice which is essential to the student’s success with content material.

“PAW Parties” The last Friday of each month we take time out to reward appropriate behavior. Students who have 6 or less days of sign-ins for behavior and/or homework may participate in the Paw Party. Field Trips We will plan field trips as allowed by our budget. Permission forms will be sent home as plans are finalized. If you are planning to serve a chaperone, you must have viewed the Mandated Report video from the CCBOE website and printed the certificate to give your child’s teacher.

What is our Newsflash?  Each teacher has a webpage. We are able to send last minute messages out to your or as a text to your phone.  In order to receive these messages, you must sign up for the Newsflash on each of your teacher’s webpage.  It really is simple and beneficial to you!
