Player Skills Profile Summer 2011 PRE-SEASON CAMP

Player Skills Profile A player skills profile lets us think about which skills, thoughts and ideas about the game we should work on. We want to show our strengths and some skills to work on.

Player Skills Profile What special skills do we need as - Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders & Forwards? We should think about technical skills (what we can do with the ball), tactical decisions (where we go on the field) and game thought skills.

Player Skills Profile Lets write down five of these skills. Try and have at least one technical, tactical or game thought skills (coach can help explain) for a player in your favorite position

Player Skills Profile Go back to the last page and give yourself a number (out of 10) for each one. In the future we will work out a plan to work on some of these.

Player Motto Our final thing to do is create our player motto. This shall be something you tell yourself before a game or maybe when a game gets tough. If you were Cristiano Ronaldo it could be : “I am a quick, tricky winger who loves to cross the ball” It should include 3 of your skills. My motto -

Affirmations – Your Strengths Select three performance attributes that are your strengths? Put your strengths into a sentence. For example, “I am a quick, agile winger who loves to cross the ball” Share with your helper. Is that who you are, is there more? You can place this sentence on a card and hold yourself accountable to this. Reflect before a game, during a game (half-time) and after the game. Change and adapt this as your weaknesses become strengths.
