Be Happy 4A Wong Chun Bon Ling To Catholic Primary School
Don lived in a beautiful village. He had a happy family, but he was always unhappy.
He was unhappy because he was often worried about everything.
He liked eating but he always thought that there was something wrong with his stomach.
One day, he went to visit his grandma with a cake.
On his way, he began to ask himself if Grandma liked cakes at all.
When he was at the front door, he was thinking so hard that the cake slipped out of his hand and fell onto the ground.
He began to cry. But then Grandma told him a story. ‘Once upon a time…
There was a man whose name was Choi. He was a happy man and he always wore a smiling face.
He had a very strong, fast and pretty horse named Bupa. His friends told him, ‘You’re a lucky man!’
One day, Choi found out that his horse was not in the stable. He couldn’t find it anywhere.
Everyone in the village said, ‘ Choi, you’re an unlucky man, loosing such a wonderful horse.’
A few days later, Bupa came back with a herd of wild horses.
His neighbours congratulated him, ‘You’re a lucky man.’
After some time, Choi’s son fell from his horse and broke his leg. This time, of course, his villagers said that Choi was unfortunate again.
But the very next day, the King announced that all the young men had to go to fight in a war for their country.
All the young ones went and fought in the battlefield. Many of them could never come home again.
Since Choi’s son had broken his leg. He was exempted. He stayed at home and lived with his family.
When Grandma finished her story, he asked Don, ‘Do you know the meaning of this story?’
Don smiled with relief and said, ‘Thank you, Grandma! I will stop worrying from this Moment on. I will try to be as happy as ever!’
