Sandro Botticelli Full Name: Alessandro di Mariano Filipepi Botticelli Nickname: Botticelli Hometown: Florence, Italy Occupation: Painter Likes: classic Renaissance art, painting, and creating my own style Dislikes: moving away from the classic art style, people who steal my spotlight (Leonardo Di Vinci and Michelangelo, looking at you) Clubs: Savonarola’s followers and Renaissance art club

About Me (and my art, of course) As a young boy, I was taught by Fra Filippo Lippi of Florence who taught me most of what I know. I developed my own art style and my success went up as the well-known and respected Medici family helped publicize me. My early works focused on creating people who look strong, real, and beautiful. In my later art, I added more figures to create busy scenes. I often include religious figures as well as representations of Christianity and paganism in my paintings. I also became successful in painting altarpieces after I began following the Florentine monk, Savonarola. My paintings completely embody the artistic movement of the southern Renaissance... I am a total Renaissance man!
