Grandma’s Adventure By Lilly Boettcher

Here Grandma was, just collecting sea shells at the beach.

She found a strange shell. It was very large. A conch shell, maybe? Whatever it was, it was somehow not at all sandy or wet, just perfectly clean. She decided to take the shell with her.

It was getting late, and Grandma decided to go back home.

At home, she cleaned out the shells so that they weren’t sandy.

When she came across the conch shell, she looked inside it to see if it was dirty.

There wasn’t any sand… but there was… …a piece of rolled up paper!

Dear Inez Boettcher, Can you think of something, The color of sand, That looks at you with your favorite color? A gift from me to you. From, Your gift

Grandma had no idea what this meant, but she assumed that she would receive a gift.

She had to check the mail, and maybe her gift would be there!

When she checked her mailbox… …there was a gift! It was the size of a cellphone.

Earrings? A bracelet? IT’S A….. …..another note.

Dear Inez Boettcher, You may want to look at the shell once more. An engraving with letters is on the side of it. From, Your gift

Grandma went back into her house and grabbed the shell. There were engravings, but they seemed… backwards.

She went to the mirror and looked at the letters.

Go to your living room….

Grandma went to the living room and… saw… The BIGGEST Gift EVER!!!

She went to open the present and… ….. !

Miss me?!

The End The “adventure” in the title “Grandma’s Adventure” is not referring to the process of Grandma finding the notes, but the challenge of keeping the creature at her house for a week.
