Worldwide Transport Educational Products For a Child

One TwosFours What Are Your First Thoughts?

How can you avoid literal interpretations e.g. a bus shaped playmat? How can you use the theme to inspire choices e.g. decorative motifs & patterns, style features, shapes of edges, fabrics, colours, techniques How can you interpret the theme in a different way e.g. line, pattern, shape, texture, mood, speed, travel, movement?

How can you avoid just copying existing products? How many different types of ‘learning’ can you think of that might be the focus for your product? Don’t just think of toys – what other types of products could you design? How can you include smart, modern & electronic textiles? What are the relevant safety issues?

© Julie Boyd It made a noise? It had a texture? It could bounce? It came from another planet? It has more than one use? It was adjustable? What if it came with accessories? What if it had zip off bits? What if it could fly? What if it had light up bits? You designed it with your eyes closed? You combined it with something else?
