There Will Come Soft Rains Ray Bradbury

There Will Come Soft Rains The short story is an except from a collection entitled The Martian Chronicles. The collection was published in Many of the short stories were based around a futuristic society. Like many authors Bradbury was inspired by the events that took place around him.

Hiroshima On Monday, August 6, 1945 the first atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima. It killed 80,000 people instantly. Over the next year over 100,000 people died from radiation poisoning.

TWCSR- Journal 2 If you knew the world was ending tomorrow and you had time to do 3 things what would they be and why?

I double dog dare you! We are a technology dependent society, so I issue a challenge to you… You must complete 5 tasks and turn them in tomorrow. You may NOT use any technology (internet, phones, computer…ect) The class with the most students that complete this assignments receives a surprise.

Challenge Who was the 13 th President of the United States? Find out what the weather will be on Friday. Communicate with someone long distance (more than 30 minutes away) Tell a friend to come to my classroom, introduce themselves and say the period you are in. Sit in your room (no music, no TV, no Facebook) and write about this quote “Life is not a final. It's daily pop quizzes.” for 15 minutes straight (you will need a manual clock---digital ones use electricity) This works of the honor system, but I am a firm believer in Karma…so be honest! Happy hunting!
