Choose which test you are preparing for, Juniors – ACT Freshman/Sophomores -PSAT Seniors – ACT or SAT if you are re-taking it or taking it for the first time.

The all three test sections are organized then same way. 1 – Overview 2 – Take Test 3 – Score and Analyze 4 – Review Skills 5 – Rework Test If you have already taken a practice or “mock” test then go to Step 3 to analyze your results.

Juniors – For the mock ACT, the test was Form 1267C, Click on that assessment. Freshman – For the mock PSAT, go to the PSAT guide and Click on 2013 PSAT Form W

Individual student results will display if the test has been taken.

Once you have seen your scores, go to Step 4 If you only want to work on your personal “Critical Skills” or weaknesses determined by the test, click on Critical Skills You can access all of the lessons available from this page.

Once in “Critical Skills” find the test you took and click on it.

After you are finish with the lessons found under “Critical Skills”, go to Step 5 to rework the test you took and correct the problems you missed or left blank.

Steps to Follow Find your report and work on Critical skills (lessons and quizzes) Retake and work on problems missed on the mock test Take the online practice test to see if you have improved. Time yourself because pacing is important in this test. Juniors - Check out the tab on the homepage for what to work on the week before the ACT (March 3 rd )

The only online test that you can take is the one in the light green box. The other tests require a hard copy of the questions and only provide a place to load answers. See Mrs. Rowe if you want to get a copy of those tests.

The last week of February, or the weekend prior to the test, set aside 2 hours to do the “FinalPrep for the ACT” This is to provide last minute practice for the test.

Final Notes A composite score of 22 is considered college ready (expectation to make A’s or B’s in college level courses) and is the goal for CMS. The state goal is 17. ACT scores are on the School Improvement Plan for all CMS high schools. As a magnet school this measure is extremely important to show that academics is valued as much as the arts at NWSA. Composite score for last year was 21.7 with a 78.3% pass rate. The majority of college bound students will take the ACT twice. Language Arts is consistently high, focus on critical skills needed in math and science. (Mrs. Rowe is available after school everyday if you have any specific math questions. Check with your current science teacher for assistance with science.)
