The Work of the Coach Identify target students and populations Maintain data on each interaction with students and families | Contact Summary Provide assistance FAFSA completion, submission, and awarding Navigate students through mile markers in the Steps to Enrollment and provide support during progression through application to New Student Orientation Career Coaching and Program Selection

The Work of the Coach Responsible for the development and maintenance of a Junior/Senior College Planning Timeline and use as a tool in coaching and planning for college transition. Provides support to ensure school counselors have the tools necessary to prepare their students for the college application and financial aid process. Maintain detailed records of student cohorts served by tracking program data on advising activities, interventions, services and student goals.

The Work of the Coach Prepares quarterly reports on each student, describing counseling activities for the reporting period and providing specific details regarding student progress such as course schedule, grades, problems and related matters. Lead and coordinate college campus visits/tours. Conduct Saturday programs aimed at teaching academic and life skills that support LifeMap Stage 1 (College Transitions) success indicators. Conduct parent workshops on the college transition process and resources.

The Work of the Coach Serve as a liaison between the local school (students, parents, teachers, administration) and Valencia College. Collaborate with Transitions Planning Division to establish learning objectives, curriculum and assessment methods for presentations and programs. Participates as part of the Transitions Planning Team. Assists in planning and implementation of Transitions Initiatives. Provide coaching and mentoring for students enrolled in targeted Valencia Transitions Programs.

The Work of the Coach Provide support for workshops and community events that serve the students in each mentoring cohort under the program. Provide academic assessment and college readiness initiatives information preparing high school students for academic placement upon college admission. More to come….
