Renewed Interest in DCD  Recent renewed interest in DCD:  To increase available organs for life saving transplants  To address the growing requests by families to fulfill the donation wishes of their loved ones

2007 DCD Statistics (Michigan) Total Organ Donors = 301 Total DCD Donors = 53 DCD Organs transplanted = 74 DCD Organs per Donor = 1.4 (HRSA Goal ) (HRSA Goal ) Percent of total donors = 17.6 (HRSA Goal -- 10%) (HRSA Goal -- 10%)
