Course Description In this course, emphasis is placed on grammar and mechanics, research, vocabulary, writing skills, and literature. Writing activities give students practice in organizing and developing formal communications, narrative, cause and effect, compare and contrast, and research compositions. Mastery of the writing process is expected. In addition, students study short stories, novels, poetry and a Shakespearean play. CUSD Course Catalog
