College Prep Chemistry Lesson #13 LESSON GOALS: Do Obsertainer Lab (on Indirect Observations) DELAYED b/c materials are being found by other teacher…… Watch video on Greatest Discoveries in Chemistry (Bill Nye) Individual conference time on project proposals I will call you back individually while the Bill Nye video is running. Complete summary prompt on Nye video 1/4

Greatest Discoveries Some amazing things have happened throughout the history of Chemical research. Many of these things are leading us into future developments, as well. You will be responding to a summary-prompt at the end of the video (so stay attentive!) 2/4

Bill Nye Summary Answer the following questions on your own sheet of paper (and turn these in): 1.Why is it important to study the history of Chemistry? 2.What “Greatest Discovery” do you think had the most influence on humanity? 3.WHY do you believe that your answer to #2 had the most influence? 4.Choose one topic from the video and come up with an idea for a lab that you could create in order to study this discovery further [the lab does not need to be indepth…a few sentences of description will do]. 3/4

Looking Ahead: We will complete an “Indirect Observations” lab and continue our study of Ch. 1 material. 4/4
