Presentation transcript:

Almost every country besides the United States has found a way to accommodate the blind or visually impaired citizens. There are many ways to do this, but yet the U.S. has not adopted any of these methods. Here are a few examples:  Different size of bills  Adding raised dots on the surface of the bill  Changing colors of the bills  Notched edges According to Jay McDonald, author of Keeping Currency, “The U.S. greenback stands alone as the only major world currency still invisible to the blind.”

Inflation- a persistent, substantial rise in the general level of prices related to an increase in the volume of money and resulting in the loss of value of currency. As inflation rises, every dollar you own buys a smaller percentage of a good or service.

Causes of Inflation Demand-Pull InflationDemand-Pull Inflation - This theory can be summarized as "too much money chasing too few goods". In other words, if demand is growing faster than supply, prices will increase. This usually occurs in growing economies. Cost-Push InflationCost-Push Inflation - When companies' costs go up, they need to increase prices to maintain their profit margins. Increased costs can include things such as wages, taxes, or increased costs of imports.
