What is ΣΣΦ? Honorary Osteopathic Service Fraternity National Objectives: – To further the science of Osteopathic Medicine and its standards of practice – To improve the scholastic standing and promote a higher degree of fellowship among its students – To foster allegiance to the AOA Epsilon Corollary: To demonstrate a sincere commitment to service within CCOM and the surrounding community.

Membership 95 active members – 26 OMS-IV – 36 OMS-III – 33 OMS-II 11 new members this fall Faculty Advisors. – Dr. Perry Marshall, D.O. – Dr. Miho Yoshida, D.O.

Fall Membership Drive Written Applications Reviewed “Blinded”, grade checks – Three independent reviewers from our office of student services Invited to Interview – Interviewed by 2-3 current SSP members who are not classmates Applications reviewed by selection committee Criteria for admission – Scholastics (min GPA 3.3) – Involvement, Service – Interest in/Knowledge of SSP

Rotation Speed Dating MS 3 and 4’s return to campus to share their rotation experiences Format allows for small group discussions, rather then panel format Annual event This year interns from different departments will come to campus as well

Student Informational Panel 5-6 SSP Members sit down for a Q&A session with MS1 students about what to expect and how to prepare for next year Advice for classes and what material to use for boards Exchange contact information for future questions

Accelerated Student Program Work with 7th-12th graders who are focused on getting into medical school Bring students to MWU to meet with current medical students Take them on a tour of anatomy lab Teach basic aspects of a physical exam Event organized in conjunction with CCOM Student Council

Mini Med School Day Going to local middle school to share information about healthcare Kids had fun playing with equipment and interacting with our members Teaching and encouraging preventative care, exercise, and good nutrition

Goals Goal for is to ensure that everyone (especially MS-1’s) know what SSP is and how rewarding it is Bring the chapter closer together through mentoring and networking opportunities Spring Volunteer Project – Open to all members
