Broad Based High Visibility Events o Synod Assemblies Provides visibility Prospects & Appointments. Leave your business cards for referrals when your shift is over. Phil Edlund staffed the booth at the SW WA ELCA Synod Assembly.  Several people approached the booth while the assembly was in session.  Referred 5 people to John Aakre.  John Aakre made appts. for new business.

Key Concepts of GivingPlus ™ Campaign Organization must sign up first with Thrivent (not all organizations will qualify)  Must be one of the organization types listed in guidelines  Must be listed in the national and local church body yearbook  Must have at least 1 FTE (30+ hrs./wk., can be two ½ time positions) Everyone participates no matter what size of the gift. Organization involves multiple family members and their extended family. Organization involves local congregations in your efforts.

What if my organization does not have many Thrivent Members? Sign them up as Family Associate Members! Recruit 5 to 10 donors to support your campaign and donate unrestricted funds to your organization  Be sure to send in these donations to be matched by GivingPlus™! Have a kickoff promotion, where the seed donors offer testimonials and recruit Family Associate Members  Encourage each seed donor to recruit 5 to 10 Family Associate Members each  If a donor is willing to donate only $100, suggest that they write one check to Thrivent Financial for $10 for the membership fee, and the remaining $90 to your organization. This way the organization will receive a total of $135!

GivingPlus ™ $24 Million Nationally (first come, first served*) Gifts for all membership types ($50 min. gift reqm’t and Assoc. Member gift limitations eliminated as of April 1, No changes to “Member Benefits” eligibility. )  Gifts up to $600, to 2 different organizations, matched 50 cents on the dollar.  Multiple gifts can be made to reach the full $600.  2005 deadline – Postmarked to Thrivent by Jan. 14, 2006 Volunteer Bonus – Applies to both membership types!  If a donor volunteers 25 or more hours per year with the organization, Thrivent Financial will contribute an extra $25 *The budget for this program is established annually. Gifts arriving after the program’s annual allocation is distributed may not be supplemented--but will be gratefully received.

How can Help? u Provide coaching for a volunteer who will manage the fund-raising process. u Sponsor a Coffee Hour to kick off the fund- raising campaign in order to meet the donors and rally support. At the Coffee Hour will display Thrivent Financial Member Benefits to encourage associate memberships.

We suggest this event could take place in conjunction with a. u Assist parents, grandparents and friends of in linking their faith, values and finances by guiding them through an individualized Charitable Giving Process. u
