STEWARDSHIP IN TODAY’S CHURCH Making Stewardship A Reality!

Step One  Make a commitment to promote and teach a year round Stewardship and Gratitude program  Who will head the team and who will be on it?  What is the purpose, goals and plan for this team?  How will you incorporate the mission of this team into the overall Church mission?

Step Two  Get the leadership on board  How much is the leadership willing to back and support this team?  Will they lend ideas and a hand as needed to make the work happen?

Step Three  Realize that not everyone will get on board  Then He told them many things in parables, saying: “Consider the sower who went out to sow. As he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate them up. Matt. 13:3-4  Don’t let them discourage your efforts

Set Backs  Some will “fall out”  Others fell on rocky ground, where there wasn’t much soil, and they sprang up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep. But when the sun came up they were scorched, and since they had no root, they withered. Others fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them. Matt. 13:5-7

Victory!  Some will become faithful Stewards  Still others fell on good ground and produced a crop: some 100, some 60, and some 30 times what was sown. Anyone who has ears should listen!” Matt. 13:8-9

Battle Plan  Purpose: New and Improved Stewardship Lifestyle  Goals: How many will you try to reach? What does Victory look like?  Action Plans: Ministry Proposal  Order of Importance  Which ones must be done first?  What happens if you get stuck on an AP?

To Your Weapons!  Preaching  Teaching  Testimonies  Drama  Projects  Special Giving Emphasis  Personal Money Management  Will and Trust Seminars

Go for the Win!  Close the Deal  Give people an opportunity to Obey  Give them more than one way  Offering, Direct Giving, Payment Plan, non monetary gifts i.e. insurance plans, stocks, bonds, art, etc.  Set limits to what you will accept: no junk, nothing from ill-gotten gain

Report!  Celebrate the Victory  Give testimony  Have a Special Service  Leave the door open for future giving and obedience  Expand the borders: time, talent, touch!
