ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER is for you!  When: Monday through Thursday  When: During lunch and after school (2:45-3:45)  Where: Library  Who: Any 9 th or 10 th grade student who is failing a class.  A teacher may refer you or you can just drop in.  There is a bus to take you home and leaves from the front steps at 3:50 p.m.

Check your Power School grades often!  Don’t be surprised by your grades, check them often.  Be proactive and talk to your teacher if you are struggling, missing, or don’t understand something.  We are here to help you, but you have to be willing to do the work!

Grit & Perseverance  What does grit and perseverance mean and how does that relate to school and your grades?  Please distribute and take the Grit Scale Survey.  Respond to all 17 items by circling the number response that best fits you.  Be honest– there are no right or wrong answers!  Turn to the back of the sheet and follow the directions for scoring.  When you are done scoring, you should have scores for Grit, Perseverance, and Ambition.

Watch this to see what it means to have Grit. 

Scoring  Talk about your scores!  What do you think each of the scores mean to you?  How does it feel to have that score?  Do you think you should have a different score?  How does this relate to school and life?

It takes a little more GRIT and PERSEVERANCE to be a tiger!
