EQAO Results Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics Learning from data is central to our overarching responsibility as educators – being accountable for the success of each and every student. Marguerite Jackson, CEO, EQAO

Grade 9 EQAO Mathematics standards-referenced large-scale assessment based on The Ontario Curriculum expectations and standards (level of achievement) provides various levels of the system with valid, reliable, and comparable year-to- year data on student achievement

Benefits of EQAO Grade 9 Math? Schools can use this data along with other contextual assessment information (e.g., demographics, attendance, pass rates) to determine how well the strategies they introduce to support improved student achievement are working.

Guiding Principles Each school is unique, and to appreciate the distinctive character of a school, it is necessary to understand the features and characteristics of the community it serves. This assessment captures performance at a specific point in time. Results should be considered with other school information about student performance in mathematics.
