What are mailing lists? A list of names and addresses for a group of people who share a common interest. Messages are automatically forwarded to everyone on the list.

List Moderator- Person who moderates a list to ensure the list deals with relevant information. Moderated List A list in which a person moderates to check the postings. Unmoderated list Postings are made automatically without a moderator

Usenet An information network to which people can post and read messages and opinions

Mailing-list programs manage two types of s: Messages Commands

If you don’t receive a message within 36 hours of subscribing, resend the subscription request. Closed list- One in which membership is not automatic. Open list- One that automatically accepts all subscription requests.
