Fire Detectors Every house must have smoke alarms Should check the batteries once a month Should be one between every person’s room and the rest of the house If sleep with bedroom door closed, should have one in room Should not be in kitchens, unheated attics, crawl spaces and garages
Fire Extinguishers Should know where there are Can be very heavy Should be inspected every 30 days Can put out small fires
How can you prevent a fire? Don’t leave candles burning if no ones home Don’t place any open flame near curtains, etc. Don’t play with matches Don’t leave pots on the stove unwatched
