 A group of Australian scientists from the CSIRO invented the wireless technology that is found in many of todays electronic devices.  Their invention allows devices like mobile phones, iPads, laptop computers, and televisions to connect to the internet remotely.

 Dr John O’Sullivan was the Project Leader Dr John O’Sullivan was the Project Leader  His area of expertise was Science and Electrical Engineering.  In 2009 he was awarded the Australian Prime Minister’s Prize for Science.  The other inventors names are Dr Terry Percival, Mr Diet Ostry and Mr John Deane. Thanks to John’s team of inventors, their wireless technology is now used in more than 3 billion (3,000,000,000) devices around the world! By the end of this year this is predicted to grow to 5 billion devices. WOW! Their wireless invention has resulted in almost $500 million being paid from companies using their technology.
