… welcome to the 10 th PhD workshop C & I Miroslav Kárný Department of Adaptive Systems Institute of Information Theory and Automation Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic

Aims to present also beginners’ work Aims of the workshop: Aims of the talk: to point to an open area of C & I to point to an open area of C & I to grasp something beyond the personal domain to welcome you & wish you enjoyable event

Roots … Roots … Founding fathers

Roots … Founding mothers DONE ! …welcome you & wish you enjoyable event

…to point to an open C & I area … deals with knowledge covering general truths of the operation of general laws obtained and tested through scientific method concerned with the physical world. Do we seek for general truths within C & I ? Do we seek for general truths within C & I ? i) a collection of techniques solving practical problems C & I: ii) a branch of the science What is the essence of scientific methods?

The essence of scientific methods ? Will I get drink again if I will miaou again? … everything I need I learnt in kinder garden (MK not R. Fulghum) The essence of scientific methodsopen mindchildish questions The essence of scientific methods is open mind & childish questions How do I open this ? How do I open this ? Can I trust it ? Why I hate it in spite of a common appraisal? What is this? What is this? Why I do this? Why I do this?

Do we seek for general truths ? Cybernetics:  communication & control principles are common  feedback is an universal & inevitable tool in fighting with omnipotent disturbances and uncertainties Targeted DM actions data System (open environment)

Do we seek for general truths ?  information transition can be quantified & controlled … the conclusions extrapolated, generalized & formalized by inspecting & solving particular cases related to the physical world ! Informatics  lossless information transfer is (almost) impossible … DO WE MISS SOMETHING CONCEPTUAL?

WE LIVE IN THE FINITE WORLD ! ? bounded design, communication, observation & evaluation resources: What are general laws of design (!) and implementation of optimal (good, successful) feedback & communication strategies within FW?

Personal hypothesis on proper facing FW Bayesian DM: personal aims & finite resources actions data actions data Knowledge & aim mixing + back projection

Please, check the hypothesis during workshop Knowledge & aim mixing + back projection Control Decision support Estimation Modeling FDI
