5 Valentine campaign To increase awareness of RS amongst teenagers make RS issues as one of their topics discussion amongst themselves. Letting them educate and remind each other when they are travelling together. And to persuade teenagers driving sensibly and carefully resulting in reducing road crashes. Target group: year olds

6 A+E campaign What is A+E campaign? A = Awareness E = Enforcement What is an objective? -Make people be aware of danger on the road during the festival, -Remind road users do not drive when they’re under influence of alcohol, -Inform the road users about traffic police action against drunk driver, speeding and no helmet, -Place road safety on public agenda as an important issues and must strictly follow up.

Helmet Enforcement campaign Objective To promote and reinforce the helmet enforcement which became effective on 11 th Dec 2007 by director of DPWT of Vientiane capital at schools. To encourage students coming from and going to schools wearing helmet to minimize fatalities and disabilities. To make students be aware of importance of helmet wearing in prevention head injury and death. So that, teachers and students in Vientiane capital be aware of traffic rules and safe driving. Campaign implementation by: Collaboration between DPWT – DOE - DTP Funding by HI 13

DDD team Objective To raise awareness on the consequences of RTA caused by drunk driving to encourage behavior change Activities conducting –Initial mobilization: peer exchange with a Thai organization (Don’t Drink & Drive Foundation) : Home visit and peer counseling; Training on advocacy and campaigning; Advice on accessibility and care; Hands-on practice /demonstration public outreach –Public outreach and story-telling in vocational schools before Lao New Year –Monthly public outreach in Buddhism festivals (at temples), or public places (parking lots, markets, bus stations) 15
