Temperate Rainforest Biome Research By Tyler lovvorn

Temperate rainforest Geography & Climate ◦Location: a temperate rainforest can be found in the eastern united states. ◦Description: a temperate rainforest has one, long, wet winter/spring season with a dry, foggy summer. ◦Soil type: the soil is very rich in nutrients. ◦Precipitation: in. a year ◦climate: 60of ◦Temp. range: cool temperatures most of the year

Temperate rainforest Biodiversity Plant species: maple, elm, oak, douglas fir, Sitka spruce, western red cedar, western hemlock, ferns, salal, berry shrubs. There are more than 2,000 species of plant life. Animal species: black bear, cougars, wolfs, lynx, shrew, deer, elk, birds, insects, salmon, small mammals, amphibians, weasel, raccoon.

Temperate rainforest Adaptations Needed for Survival Plant adaptations: has leaves instead of pine needles. Animal adaptations: lose winter coat, adapt to many seasons, eat from different layers of the forest.

Temperate rainforest Interactions of Biotic and Abiotic Biotic: The trees take in sunlight during photosynthesis. Abiotic: characterized by an abundance of deciduous trees.

What is Biodiversity? -biodiversity: the variety of life in an ecosystem.

How does biodiversity contribute to the sustainability of an ecosystem? It keeps animals and plants from over populating so that one species doesn't over rule other species.
