SIZE M oon: The moons diameter is 3,475 km Earth : The Earths diameter across is 12,756 km S un: THE suns length is million km
There is 158 billion U.S gallons of water on the moon There is 326 million cubic miles of water on the Earth
GRAVITY The moons gravity shows that if somebody weighs 135 lbs on Earth they will weigh just under 23 lbs on the moon. The Earths gravity is six times more than the moon. The Suns gravity is 28 more times stronger than Earths
Interesting Features When the sun appears to be brighter that is called a solar flare The dark spots on the Sun are called sunspots Sun spots are the cool spots on the Sun
LANDFORMS Did you know that the moon has craters because objects hit the moons surface in space and that’s what creates craters The Earth has many landforms such as small craters, vallys, moutains, lakes, and a lot more.
WHAT THE SUN IS MADE OF The sun is made of gas ( mostly hydrogen and helium)
WEATHER & ATMOSPHERE The moon has no air and no wind and gets hit by a lot of objects. During the day the moon is hot and at night the moon is cold The earth has many kinds of weather caused by the seasons
TEMPERATURE RANGE The suns temperature range is 5505 degrees Celsius
WEATHERING & EROSION The moon does not have weathering and erosion because there is no atmosphere, wind, and almost no water The earth has weathering and erosion because of the wind, water, and atmosphere The sun has weathering and erosion it is caused by strong magnetic activity within the sun. The sun is so powerful that it creates a type of wind that travels through the solar system. Sometimes areas within the sun will appear brighter. These are solar flares
TIME TO ROTATE It takes the moon days to rotate on its axis The Earths length of a day is 24 hours The sun rotates once every 27 days on its axis just like the moon
TIME TO REVOLVE The Moon takes 29.5 days to revolve around Earth The Earth takes days to revolve around the sun The Sun does not orbit the Earth
EFFECTS ON OTHER CYCLES How does the Moon cause tides: The gravitational force between the Earth and Moon makes tides What causes seasons: The Earths tilt What effects does the Sun make on Earths temperatures: The Sun warms are planet
