Bulletin Board Basics Lettering  Print size  Spacing  Upper/Lower – ALL CAPS  Left to Right Balance/Symmetry  By nature, 41% of us look to the upper left-hand corner first…  Formal = one side is a mirror image of the other  Informal = both sides have equal weight but have different arrangements Curect Spelin, pleeze!! Measure to Make Sure!!

Bulletin Board Basics Cont’d… Materials:  Variety/contrast is good – but not too over stimulating  Colorful –make sure colors match; set the mood Red/orange/yellow = warm colors that jump out at you Violets/blues/greens = make good backgrounds  Graphics - Proportioned correctly; Applicable to the topic  Borders should match the theme/purpose Appearance  Error Free – no smudges, tears, etc.  Borders lay flat and overlap nicely

Sketch Up  Sketch up a plan before you begin.  Lay it out so you know where everything is going to go – and it fits!!
