Presentation transcript:

I am Ms. Pham. I am very excited to be your teacher this year.

Please sign the transportation sheet and fill out a student information sheet.

If you have school supplies, you may sort them out along the cabinet wall.

PTO Membership Drive!! WE CAN WIN A PAJAMA PARTY! The class in each grade level with the highest number of PTO members will win a pajama party. If you would like to join the PTO, please fill out the pink membership form, return the form and payment and see me for a sticker to put on our pajama pant! Membership in the PTO is optional. Membership in the PTO does not require you to volunteer in the classroom.

VOLUNTEERS!! If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the volunteer form. You do not have to come up to school or be inside the classroom to volunteer.

Tardies and Absences Students are tardy if they are not in their class at 8:20 (or 12:25 for the afternoon class) when the bell rings. Students are absent if they are not in their class at 9:45 (or 1 pm for the afternoon class) when the bell rings. Please send a note the day your student comes back from an absence.

Grading Period Klein elementary schools are on a 9 week grading period. Progress reports will be sent home on Tuesday of the 5 th week. Pre-k students receive grades of E, S, N, and U.

Daily Folder This folder comes home every day. Please sign and return. This is an easy way for us to communicate with each other.

Dress Code Please bring an extra set of clothes in their backpack. No tank tops, spaghetti straps, or muscle shirts. Shorts must be at mid-thigh. No flip flops. No head coverings (bandanas, scarves, hats). We will be using the playground equipment. Please have children wear shoes appropriate for the playground.

Getting ready for school! BEFORE the First Day of School Talk to your child about school. Prepare your child by encouraging them. Label and name things they will encounter, like teacher, bus, working at tables with friends, and walking in the halls. ON the First Day of School: Kiss, hug, drop-off and leave. Though this may be hard for both you and your child initially, however, when you are gone, your child will focus more on their new friends and surroundings and warm up to the new environment. AFTER the First Day of School: Take time to talk and ask about school and be positive; give a treat or special snack, small toy, big hug or lots of kisses. Mention how proud you are of your child and how your child is learning and growing.
