Mrs. Ebere Vivian Elekwachi is the Vice President of Doctors For Children International (DFCI), a non-governmental organisation created to take care of children of the less privileged in the rural areas of our society, especially in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. She is also the Founder & C.E.O. of 8dollar.biz (eight dollar.biz)

1. To visit different rural communities and towns in all the states of the country and the African continent as a whole. 2. To offer free medical consultation to children in rural areas and sub urban settlements who are not opportuned to have easy access to hospitals and doctors. 3. To provide free medical treatment to children in these rural areas and sub urban settlements who do not have easy access to medical treatment. 4.To provide free medication for childhood diseases to the children in the rural areas and sub urban settlements, who do not have easy access to these drugs. 5.To educate parents on the importance of the health of their children and the need to report cases of child illness promptly to nearby hospitals and clinics. 6.To empower the parents of the less privileged children with skill-acquisition to enhance their financial and economic means of livelihood.

7.To educate parents in the rural areas on some basic first aids procedures that can be performed on their children before medical attention can be received. 8.To organize lectures and seminars for the community health workers in the rural areas on how to diagnose and manage childhood infections. 9.To organize lectures and seminars for the elite group in the urban cities on their role to their people in the rural areas as regards teaching of their people the importance of their health. 10.To pay for the treatment of specialist or surgical cases for children from the rural areas, sub urban settlement and also the less privileged children who are treated in tertiary hospitals.

11.To carry out campaign on the importance of the immunization of children and also assist the National programme on immunization in the administration of the vaccines. 12.To carryout campaign against the dreaded disease - HIV/AIDS, especially as it affects children, through the organization of lectures for those in the primary and post primary schools and advertise on bill boards, posters and jingles on the electronic /prints media 13.To take care of children who are infected with HIV/AIDS or whose mothers died. 14.To counsel children whose parents are infected with HIV/AIDS or have died from HIV/AIDS infection, as regards to the social stigmatization attached to HIV/AIDS infection in this country. 15.To work in collaboration with other non-governmental organizations, government agencies and world bodies to provide free medical care for the African children.

16.To reduce the incident of child mutability in Nigeria especially for those in the rural areas and less privileged children. 17.To recruit interested Nigerian as volunteers to assist in providing the children in the rural areas and sub urban settlement with free medical care. 18.To set up mini healthcare center of cottage Hospitals in the rural areas where children will be treated free of charge. 19.To build specialist children hospitals in the major cities of this country where children especially those with special cases will be treated free. 20.To appeal to drug companies for the donation of drugs and other related materials required for the provision of free medical care for the Nigerian children.

21. To advice, participate in and encourage government healthcare in Nigeria which is geared toward providing adequate health care for African children. 22.To solicit for support in terms of fund and material for good spirited individuals, co- operate bodies, government institutions and world bodies which will be utilized in providing free medical care to the African children.
