WHAT DOES IT TAKE?

To Become A Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus Christ?

Luke 9: 23 Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me 1. Desire 2. Denial 3. Sacrifice 4. Consistency 5. Obedience

WHAT DOES IT TAKE? THE WOMAN’S STORY 1.We must reflect at Christians on our BROKENESS. 2.We must be open/bold about sharing this experiences with others. 3. We must be clear in our message.

Becoming a Fully Devoted Follower of Jesus 1 Peter 2: 1-11

1. Get rid of the toxins (evil behavior) vs. 1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

2. Crave Spiritual Milk. vs.2-3 Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.

3. Be Part of Something Great! vs.4-5 As you come to him, the living Stone rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ

4. What a Disciple is. vs.9-10 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

5. What a Disciple of Jesus does. vs Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

1. We should rid evil 2. We should crave good 3. We should grow spiritually
