High Power Dumps – RDR 10 atm. Cylinder water vessel with copper plate back end, 1.5m diameter x 6.5m long, in a 15 x 3 x 4 m^3 shielded enclosure, with a three loop radiactive water system rated for 18MW, 2300 gpm. Water system includes 2 18MW heat exchangers and 450 HP(?) pumps and treatment faciliites for tritium and Hydrogen. Includes 50cm FE and 150cm concrete local shielding but no tunnel shielding. Includes mechanism for remote replacement of dump window as a part of regular maintenance. Includes control device up to patch panel but no I&C costs; includes plumbing up to 2nd heat exchanger; assumes CFS will provide a 15 x 12 x 4 m underground housing for plumbing 10m away from front of dump, bring adequate water from surface cooling plant and sufficient electrical power for pumps, etc. See nnnnnnn.xls for detailed specifications. 4 each BDS

Neutral beam dump 12 atm cylinder water vessel 10cm diameter by 100cm long. Stainless steel with external copper back plate. 40gpm three loop radioactive water system rated for 300 kW, pumps, H and H3 handling. 1mm Titanium window. Includes 50cm FE and 150cm concrete local shielding but no tunnel shielding. Includes control device up to patch panel but no I&C costs; includes plumbing up to 2nd heat exchanged. Assumes CFS will provide a 15 x 12 x 4 m underground housing for plumbing 10m away from front of dump, bring adequate water from surface cooling plant and sufficient electrical power for pumps, etc. 1 each e+

Mid-power dumps 38cm diameter, 210 cm long stainless vessel, backed by 15cm of peripherally cooled Cu block. Vessel filled with 10 mm aluminum balls with a copper free, three loop rad water system rated at 30gpm and minimal overpressure. Copper backend cooled by the rad water. Full H and tritium amelioration as for main dumps. 10 cm Fe and 40cm concrete local shielding. Requires CFS volume for underground plumbing housing; CFS connection of above ground cooling loop and adequate power to run pumps, etc. and I&C interface. 200cm site dependent tunnel shielding not included. 1 e-; 2 e+; 6 RTML

Dump - summary RDR listed 7 types of dumps. – Total 26 – Four types of low power devices Not covered here – 14 high power devices; 3 types, requiring rad- water and specific construction CFS requirements understood adequately To be reviewed as indicated
