The colony of Roanoke sailed through the seas. They were going to Roanoke to set a colony.

When they got there, they used the wood and supplies to build houses.

The supplies didn’t come for 3 years and Captain John White sailed to England but the war was the delay for the supplies ships and how long it took to get back to England.

The colony thought Captain John White abandoned them so they went to find supplies and died.

There was an island nearby called Croatoan. They came over and carved Croatoan into the post, claiming it.

Captain John White’s supply ship got delayed by the war and had to get another one.

When the captain got there he saw that nothing was there he panicked.

He saw Croatoan on the post

I think they died away somewhere else and Croatoan claimed it.
