Go Higher Campaign GED attainment was sixth highest in the nation Enrollments and degrees awarded increased significantly Received national recognition and awards Instrumental in securing $42 million for second GEAR UP grant Developed partnership with SREB Go Alliance

College Access Initiative Aligned with Double the Numbers plan $800,000 from the 2006 Kentucky General Assembly to conduct a second phase of the Go Higher campaign More than $1 million in matching funds from campaign partners

Additional Funding $450,000 GEAR UP funds $100,000 NPEC Award to improve GoHigherKY.org $500,000 from Lumina to launch the KnowHow2Go campaign and develop the Kentucky College Access Network (KyCAN!) College Access Initiative

Double the Numbers plan seeks to: Increase the adult college participation rate from 3.6% to 4.5% College Access Initiative activities: Telephone survey of adults with some college Phase One: 11,000 adults with 90+ credit hours Direct mail Program and services inventory Campus response teams and action plans Phase Two: Informed by research College Access Initiative: 310,000 Kentucky Adults with Some College

Double the Numbers plan seeks to: Increase annual number of GED graduates from 9,000 to 15,000 Increase college-going rate of GED graduates from 19% to 36% College Access Initiative activities: KYAE survey of 3,200 recent GED grads Toolkits for 900 adult educators to aid in recruiting adults to complete their GED and transitioning GED graduates to college. Training workshop for toolkits College Access Initiative: 9,500 GED Graduates

Double the Numbers plan seeks to: Increase the number of students transferring from KCTCS to 4-year universities from 3,100 to 11,334 College Access activities: Radio ads encouraging transfer Support of annual KCTCS transfer fairs Development and distribution of printed and online transfer student toolkits, posters, and transfer brochures College Access Initiative: 47,115 Potential Transfer Students

Evaluation: Short-Term Web metrics Call center inquiries Membership and participation Distribution of materials Focus groups and feedback College Access Initiative

Evaluation: Long-Term Are more GEAR UP students attending college? Are more high school students attending college? Are more adults completing their bachelor’s degree? Are more adults earning their GED? Are more GED students transitioning to college? Are more KCTCS students transferring to complete a bachelor’s degree? College Access Initiative
