The Arctic Ocean

The Arctic Ocean is the smallest and shallowest of the world's five oceans. It is located in the Northern Polar region of the earth.

The Arctic Ocean is largely covered with a sheet of ice for most of the year due to very low temperatures. Seals, polar bears, and arctic fox make their homes on this ice.

Fun Facts The ice sheet on the Arctic Ocean is four times the size of Texas! The average winter temperature is -30 degrees. The Arctic Ocean is the only place in the world where polar bears live.
