Risk Factors a RISK FACTOR for disease is anything that increases one’s risk of getting a particular disease.

Can You Stop Diseases? You CANNOT change your heredity and the genetic makeup that can cause chronic illness in the future. For example: If you have a strong family history of diabetes, cancer, or cardiovascular disease, you are more likely to develop these diseases later in life.

Chronic Disease Chronic Disease = Degenerative Disease ▫They often take years to develop and get worse over time. Cardiovascular disease and cancer are two examples.

Record their name, age, health status, and any type of health issues they have or have faced. If someone has passed away they should record what caused the death. (this could be a cancer, or simply just old age)
