Understand the Requirements In order to make an honest commitment to serve as a board member of Service To Servants, it is necessary to understand the requirements for serving as a board member.

Type of Board A praying board A working board A thinking board A learning board A selfless board A balanced board An organized board

Requirements of a Board Member True commitment to Jesus Christ Willingness to put others above yourself (serve) Influence in the community Attend monthly board meetings “As required” individual and committee effort Personal growth commitment An “out of the box” mindset for problem solving

Our Commitment to You We will love you as Christian brothers and sisters We will respect and appreciate you We will serve you and with you tirelessly We will trust you We will hold you accountable We will invest in your personal leadership development We will meet with you in person at least annually

Understand the Benefits In order to make an honest commitment to serve as a board member of Service To Servants, it is necessary to understand the personal and Kingdom benefits.

Kingdom Benefits Liberian Christians will become better leaders, better thinkers and better craftsmen through training and education. Thus the Kingdom will expand. Liberian Christian organizations will gain better access to needed goods, individuals in the U.S. will be able to more easily travel to Liberia to help and information about God’s work here will become more known throughout the world. Christian organizations will be more skilled at accounting thus allowing them to make better use of their resources and provide improved accountability to those who fund them. Employees, vendors and customers will hear the gospel of Christ, God’s work will receive increased funding, influence in the business community will increase and Liberian people will have jobs allowing them to support their families and God’s work.

Personal Benefits God’s Kingdom will be expanded in Liberia You will receive leadership training opportunities Your relationship with fellow board members will expand You will have used your spiritual gifts effectively You will have used your “talents” profitably

Make the Commitment In order to make an honest commitment to serve as a board member of Service To Servants, it is necessary to finally and fully commit to the task.

I agree to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Service To Servants – Liberia for the period of time stated below. I furthermore agree and commit to the mission of Service To Servants as explained to me this day especially pursuing the cooperation between those true Christian organizations and churches within Liberia to expand God’s Kingdom through my country. I understand that the primary areas of service are 1) Education & Training, 2) Logistics, 3) Financial Accountability and 4) Business Development. I understand that the stewardship of God’s money and other resources will be included in the responsibilities of this board membership and I promise never to allow my personal needs, or those of the other ministries that God has called me to serve, to improperly influence my decisions or actions as a member of this board of directors. I agree that God’s Word is never to be compromised, even in the effort to accomplish the objectives of Service To Servants, believing that God will provide the solution completely within the bounds of His law. I promise to treat my fellow board members, officers, employees, those who serve us and all those we serve with respect understanding that we are equal in God’s sight. I will pray for my fellow board members.
