Now that You are a CCISD Math Teacher…

 All of you are new to Clear Creek ISD and some of you are new to teaching.  You have all had some great professional development, and now it is time to work on professional practice and personal growth.  I think it is important that you all have the opportunity to openly discuss any issues you may deal with your first year here.

 Really look at and think about why you teach  Discover or rediscover the reality of the practice of teaching not the theory of teaching.  Understand the importance of relationships  Overall, I want you all to leave here today as empowered teachers and with questions to discuss on your individual campuses  I promise to have you out by 11:00 o’clock!!!

Did we really know what we were getting into?

What is Going to Drive your Classroom Instruction? New Teacher Scenario New Teacher Scenario

Classroom & Time Management I wish I had paid a little more attention to this when we were going over it in college. Article: Teacher X and Teacher Y

Let’s Think  What are some factors that can lead to poor classroom management?  What are some factors that can lead to good classroom management?  Why is time management so important or is it important?

Building Relationships  Researchers say this is one of the most critical factors that affects new teachers.  Four areas of concern: ◦ Colleagues ◦ Administration Administration ◦ Students & Parents ◦ Outside Relationships

Quotes for Teachers When you really consider how important this profession is to the world. There is probably no doubt why you teach, but are sure you still want to be a teacher? New Teachers: “Cherish your beginner’s mind and heart.” Seasoned Vets: “Don’t let pass experiences solely shape future opportunities”
