What is Kindergarten Screening ► Required  Hearing/Speech, Vision Health/Dental including Child find for Development Delays ► In Addition  Academic, Motor Skills, Language and social skills

Kindergarten Curriculum ► Preparing for Kindergarten Success:  Reading, Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies  what children should know and be able to do upon entering Kindergarten ► Kindergarten Standards are what a child should know and do by the end of Kindergarten ► The standards are changing and so are we ► Common Core Standards ► Going from A to D

Kindergarten Schedules ► Kindergarten  8:35 first bell  8:40- to 3:15 Monday thru Friday  Students are allowed in the building at 8am reporting to the cafeteria.  We do have breakfast available.  Specials are run by A B C days.  Lunch is after recess at 12:50

Busing ► Bus Safety ► Busing Requests – P/U and drop off, change of plans by 1:30 ► Riding the Bus is a privilege.  Share with your child the rules ► Sit in your seat ► Hands to yourself ► Talk quietly (except At RR crossings- no talking ► School rules apply

KRA-L ► Kindergarten Readiness Assessment- Literacy  Must be done within the first six weeks of school  Areas: Answering questions, Sentence Repetition, Rhyming Identification, and Initial Sounds  First day of school will be the assessment day. Not a normal day. Each class will have a have day.
