Rewards & Recognition The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is responsible for the day-to-day administration of awards. All award nominations are to be submitted to the NSSC through the NASA Automated Awards System (NAAS). At NASA, we have two broad award categories: External Award Programmes: NASA participates in a number of award programs sponsored by external organizations. Many of these awards must be submitted to NASA Headquarters for further review and approval. Others can be submitted directly from our Center to the sponsoring organization as well. Agency Award Programs: NASA’s most prestigious honor awards are reviewed by the Chair of the Incentive Awards Board (IAB) and approved by the Administrator. They are presented to carefully selected individuals and groups, Government and non-Government, who have distinguished themselves by making outstanding contributions to the mission. We encourage employees to bring relatives and friends to attend all ceremonies and share employee’s recognition.
