Configuration Control
Internet governance Governors 1 During 1979 the Internet Configuration Control Board was founded by DARPA to oversee the network's development. During 1984 it was renamed the Internet Advisory Board (IAB), and during 1986 it became the Internet Activities Board.
ISO History 1 Today AP 203 Configuration controlled 3D design is still one of the most important parts of STEP and supported by many CAD systems for import and export.

Software configuration management - Purposes 1 Configuration control - Implementing a controlled change process. This is usually achieved by setting up a change control board whose primary function is to approve or reject all change requests that are sent against any baseline.
Configuration management - Overview 1 CM Planning and Management: A formal document and plan to guide the CM program that includes items such as: Personnel; Responsibilities and Resources; Training requirements; Administrative meeting guidelines, including a definition of procedures and tools; baselining processes; Configuration control and Configuration status accounting; Naming conventions; Audits and Reviews; and Subcontractor/Vendor CM requirements.
Configuration management - Overview 1 Configuration Control: Includes the evaluation of all change requests and change proposals, and their subsequent approval or disapproval.
Endevor - Element Types 1 Endevor maintains configuration control for each element registered in the system. Every element is distinguished by the element name, system, subsystem and type. The type definition determines how the element is stored and how subsequent changes, known as deltas, are handled.
Endevor - Extensions 1 ACMAutomated configuration control which enhances Endevor element component information
Internet Architecture Board 1 The body which eventually became the IAB was created originally by the United States Department of Defense's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency with the name 'Internet Configuration Control Board' during 1979; it eventually became the 'Internet Advisory Board' during September, 1984, and then the 'Internet Activities Board' during May, 1986 (the name was changed, while keeping the same acronym)
Structure chart - Overview 1 During the configuration control process, the structure chart is used to identify CIs and their associated artifacts that a proposed change may impact.
Configuration management - Overview 1 * CM Planning and Management: A formal document and plan to guide the CM program that includes items such as: Personnel; Responsibilities and Resources; Training requirements; Administrative meeting guidelines, including a definition of procedures and tools; baselining processes; Configuration control and Configuration status accounting; Naming conventions; Audits and Reviews; and Subcontractor/Vendor CM requirements.
Configuration management - Overview 1 * Configuration Control: Includes the evaluation of all change requests and change proposals, and their subsequent approval or disapproval. It is the process of controlling modifications to the system's design, hardware, firmware, software, and documentation.
Kiosk software - Security 1 With browser-based or Internet kiosks, the standard browser menus must be disabled because these provide too much configuration control to the user. It is important to prevent the user from accessing Uniform Resource Locator|URLs not applicable to the function of the kiosk. This can be accomplished by hiding the address bar and incorporating Domain name|domain and page blocking into the kiosk system software or browser lockdown software.
Multilevel security - Trusted operating systems 1 # Even if (1) and (2) were met, the evaluation process is very costly and imposes special restrictions on configuration control of the evaluated software.
Frederick D. Gregory - NASA experience 1 His technical assignments included: Astronaut Office representative at the Kennedy Space Center during initial Orbiter checkout and launch support for STS-1 and STS-2; Flight Data File Manager; lead spacecraft communicator (Capsule communicator|CAPCOM); Chief, Operational Safety, NASA Headquarters, Washington, D.C.; Chief, Astronaut Training; and a member of the Orbiter Configuration Control Board and the Space Shuttle Program Control Board
Deke Slayton - Space Shuttle program 1 Following the ALT program, Slayton served as Manager for Orbital Flight Test, directing orbital flight mission preparations and conducting mission operations. He was responsible for OFT operations scheduling, mission configuration control, preflight stack configuration control, as well as conducting planning reviews, mission readiness reviews, and postflight mission evaluations. He was also responsible for the Shuttle Carrier Aircraft program.
Verification (spaceflight) - Qualification and Acceptance 1 * Review of design using configuration controlled drawings (for software code review)
Process area (CMMI) - Configuration Management (CM) 1 The purpose of 'Configuration Management' (CM) is to establish and maintain the integrity of work products using configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.
Geometrical tolerancing - GDT standards for data exchange and integration 1 ** ISO Application protocol: Configuration controlled 3D design of mechanical parts and assemblies
UPDM - Future work 1 DoDAF and MODAF are under configuration control, with new versions being released as the user requirement evolves, and therefore the UPDM will evolve to enable accurate modeling of the changes. One intended improvement is a move to align the meta-models of the two frameworks. As of September 2008, the UPDM Group engaged with the DoD and MOD to participate in the improvement process. The UPDM Group has begun preparation for UPDM 2.0 with a focus on US DoDAF 2.0, Canada DNDAF, and other features.
Change management analyst 1 The [change management analyst's] responsibilities include: analyzing the (request for change) prior to distributing it for review processing, obtaining all missing data, scheduling and providing secretarial assistance (agendas and minutes) to the [configuration control board] and (program management committee) meetings, maintaining the current status of (request for changes) including action items, maintaining charters and Terms of Reference (TOR), and coordinating the (request for change) appeals process.
