The Navigator Foot

PRODUCT The NAVIGATOR is a multi-axial unit with integral spherical ankle Resilient Keel The package has a foot shell and proximal pyramid

Features Ankle joint positioned within foot enclosure to mimic natural foot action Keel provides 4mm deflection at 1000N to support and smooth rollover phase Plantar flexion angle increased by 100%, from 6 to 12 deg, on original Multiflex

Ankle motion Lowered ankle centre gives improved plantar flexion action at heel strike without reducing support through mid-stance or toe-off

Benefits Realistic ankle joint position for a more natural look and feel Controlled ankle motion enhanced for comfortable and symmetrical gait Improved rollover characteristic from ergonomically shaped resilient keel Lower build height to maximise individual assembly options Warranty 3 years on all non-replaceable parts

Uniqueness The joint position provides real plantar flexion at H/S Reduced heel compression means less shortening at H/S The action preserves the knee because it allows the load line to pass through the knee

BENEFITS to user and customer Comfort! Knee preservation Self-contained ankle Cosmesis attachment Ease of selection and fitting

Keel Deflection The deflection graph shows that the resilient Navigator keel stores energy and enhances the foot action by providing some springiness at toe off: Deflects 5mm for 100kg wearer at toe off.

Keel Info. Resilient Keel made from super tough nylon + 5% glass + 5%PTFE + silicone oil Result the “Slippiest” keel we’ve ever made! 4 keel sizes

Foot Action Increased plantar flexion At 12 deg it approaches normal Dorsiflexion similar to MF Lower centre of rotation..more natural Ankle rotates rather than heel volume deflecting

Foot Testing Keel tested to 2 million cycles A125 at 1Hz with minimal creep because of the glass reinforcement

Dimensions Heel Height 10mm Range Flat-25mm ( 27cm foot +/- 7deg 2Deg=5mm ) 4 keel sizes:- Small 22-23cm Medium 24-25cm Large 26-27cm X Large cm

Tech Info. Foot shell reinforced throughout interface with keel which prevents stretching Integral TPE rollover plate ( Thermoplastic Polyester Hytrel ) Spectra sock (Dynema+PTFE lubed footshell foodlube)

Weight Light weight foam footshell 27Rt weighs 600g (250g foot shell)

Maintenance Ball durometer indicated by sticker to top of pyramid Snubber durometer indicated by coloured dot on surface

Torques Use regular tools to change the ball: there is a pin available for optimal alignment Torque (Loctite) to 15Nm Tighten diagonally

Cosmesis New shape as identified by market research Enhanced curve over heel to aid shoe retention Finish cosmesis by glueing directly to shin foam or by using a plastazote interface

Warranty Warranty 3 years on all non-replaceable parts Warranty 12 months on foot shell Balls, snubbers and glide socks are replaceable parts and will wear subject to individual usage

Foot Overview Integration of ankle parts minimises the height of the foot Snubber, ankle ball and foot shell are easily replaceable to maintain excellent function and cosmesis Keel provides 4mm deflection at 1000N to support and smooth rollover phase Plantar flexion angle increased by 100%, from 6 to 12 deg, on original Multiflex Specially formulated PTFE coating and glide sock to ensure quiet function Ankle joint positioned within foot enclosure to mimic natural foot action
