PRAY FOR ALL YOUR’RE WORTH (series) “THY KINGDOM COME” MATTHEW 6:9-13

“Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and glory forever and ever. Amen.

I. KINGDOM OF GOD: WHAT DOES IT MEAN?

THE KINGDOM OF GOD MEANS THERE IS A KING AND GOD HIMSELF IS THAT KING!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD MEANS THAT THERE IS A TERRITORY THAT BELONGS TO THE KING OVER WHICH THE KING REIGNS. THAT TERRITORY IS HEAVEN AND EARTH!

THE KINGDOM OF GOD MEANS THAT GOD’S WILL IS DONE – ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!

II. KINGDOM OF GOD: IMPORTANT FACTS

FACT #1: THE KINGDOM OF GOD WAS THE CENTRAL THEME IN THE TEACHING OF JESUS “FROM THAT TIME ON, JESUS BEGAN TO PREACH AND TO SAY, ‘THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND.’” (MATTHEW 4:17)

“And Jesus went about all Galilee teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel (good news) of the kingdom…” (Matthew 4:23) “And He departed (from Galilee) and said to them, ‘I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” (Luke 4:42,43)

“Jesus answered, ‘My kingdom is not of this world…’ Are you a king then? Jesus answered, ‘You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world…’ (John 18:36,37)

FACT #2: THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS A KINGDOM THAT LASTS FOREVER! “AND HE WILL REIGN OVER THE HOUSE OF JACOB AND OF HIS KINGDOM THERE SHALL BE NO END.” (LUKE 1:33)

FACT #3: THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS IN CONFLICT WITH THE KINGDOM OF SATAN!

FOUR THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT THE KINGDOM OF SATAN 1.Satan refuses to acknowledge his defeat 2.Satan refuses to surrender his rule 3.Satan has mankind on his side 4.Satan hopes to make his possession of earth permanent

FACT #4: THE KINGDOM OF GOD EXPLAINS WHY CHRISTIANS LIVE THEIR LIVES DIFFERENTLY “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33)

III. HOW TO PRAY FOR GOD’S KINGDOM TO COME 1. RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR OWN LIFE IS A MINI KINGDOM AND GOD WANTS TO RULE IN THE KINGDOM OF YOUR LIFE!

2. RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR HOME IS ALSO A KINGDOM AND GOD WANTS TO RULE AND REIGN IN YOUR HOME!

3. RECOGNIZE THAT YOUR CHURCH IS A KINGDOM WHERE GOD WANTS TO RULE AND REIGN IN HIS CHURCH!

4.RECOGNIZE THAT THIS WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE RIGHTFULLY BELONGS TO GOD THE KING! THE KING IS COMING BACK TO CLAIM WHAT IS RIGHTFULLY HIS!

TRUTH TO LIVE BY JESUS CHRIST, IS THE KING OF KINGS AND THE LORD OF LORDS AND HE LONGS TO RULE IN THE LIVES OF HIS PEOPLE!

TRUTH TO LIVE BY WHEN JESUS CHRIST RULES IN OUR LIVES, HE WANTS TO RULE EVERY PART OF OUR LIVES

TRUTH TO LIVE BY JESUS, THE KING, IS COMING BACK TO EARTH TO ESTABLISH HIS KINGDOM AND HE WILL REIGN OVER THIS EARTH FOR 1000 YEARS! Therefore, we are to pray: “THY KINGDOM COME!”
