Many gifted people are advised to pursue a non-art career, to get a “real job”. Show your students what your vocation consists of: your daily routine, your office, your creative side, recent work, travels, shopping for supplies. What would they see if they followed you around for a few days?

The Art Life I love painting portraits outdoors in the sunlight. My job as a portrait artist provides me a chance to use the gifts I’ve been given. I love people, I love seeing, and I can’t help but respond with my painting. I love it! This pastel portrait was painted in Chattanooga, TN.
