White Men They were the providers Did work to get money –Men and young boys usually worked in juvenile labor because they needed money and it was the only job they could find in the great depression. Known as rulers of land White men showed discrimination by limiting education and separating them from public places. They would also kill and lynch.

White Women Have fewer legal rights Women took care of home Women were said to be there to cook, clean, and raise the next generation Husband easily got upset with wives. They were considered the weaker gender so they couldn’t have jobs over the men. If they had a job it was mainly either a school teacher, a nurse, or a seamstress. They helped maintain the social order and they established the “do’s and don’ts”, by teaching their kids and telling the later generations about manners and etiquette.

Black Men Didn’t have many rights Were discriminated against. Employers preferred white men.

Black Women Didn’t have a lot of rights They couldn’t vote, couldn’t sit in same part of restaurant as whites or the bus, had separate drinking fountains and bathrooms, and they couldn’t walk in the same front door of a building as whites. Were second class
